What is Menopause?
Menopause is that moment in time after the reproductive stage when a menstrual cycle has been absent for twelve months. The time period after this moment is also quite often referred to as menopause but is more correctly post menopause.
Symptoms of Menopause
The symptoms of menopause are very similar to those of perimenopause except menstrual cycles and therefore bleeding has seized. Fibroids, fibrocystic breasts, and ovarian cysts are usually diminished. There can still be unwanted weight gain, mood swings, food cravings, fatigue, breast tenderness, sleep disturbances, tearfulness, bloating, depression, lower sex drive, swelling in the hands and feet, hot flashes, night sweats, irritability, facial hair growth, vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, urinary tract infections, hair loss, palpitations, frequent urination, urinary leakage, migraine headaches, and memory lapses.
